Clean Out Your Closet Week! Day 1: Set the Tone
If the thought of cleaning makes you want to run as far away as you can from your closet instead of cleaning it, you’re not alone! Luckily, there are a few quick and easy tricks you can do to make it more of a dance and less of a drag.
Crank the tunes!
Many music streaming platforms have custom playlists curated to hype up your cleaning routine. You can also take some time to enjoy some throwbacks or try out some new music and artists you haven't listened to before! And yes, this is also a perfect time to catch up on your favorite podcast.
Throw a fashion show.
As you decide which looks to keep and which to donate, make a show out of it! Try on your favorite looks for family or friends and show off that runway walk. Who knows, you may come up with some great, new mix-and-match outfits!
Treat cleaning as exercise.
This is one way to get in a 10,000-step day without even noticing it. Bending, stretching, walking and lifting while you are cleaning all makes for a surprisingly effective workout.
Make a hands-free call to a friend or loved one!
You already know a favorite friend or loved one can turn a boring situation into a fun adventure. Why not make the most of your time and give that person a call while you’re cleaning? Not only will you feel accomplished, but you will also have a chance to connect.
Not sure where to start? Watch this video for some quick tips on jump-starting your closet clean.
Make decluttering the highlight of your day and you won’t feel like putting it off! The clothes, shoes and accessories that don’t make the cut can make a big difference when you bring them to your nearest Goodwill Southeast Georgia location. Here’s how:
We are here as a career-builder for people in our communities. People who enter Goodwill’s Opportunity Center doors start a journey not just to that first success, credential, certification or job, but to a sustainable pathway through a career.
It’s a fact: more than 80 cents out of every dollar made from the sale of donated goods goes back into mission services! Goodwill’s Opportunity Centers transform lives through education, skills training, and employment opportunities, empowering individuals to reach their highest potential. That free career training is available to the public at our 5 Opportunity Centers in Savannah, Statesboro, Brunswick, Waycross and Jesup.
