"Springing" into Action: Community Donation Drives
April is an exciting month for Goodwill Southeast Georgia and our community! We’ve celebrated the ribbon-cutting of the Bit of Blue children's thrift boutique in Statesboro and attended several community events. We’re also fully into the spring season! Two things are top of mind: spring cleaning to refresh your home and getting outside to enjoy the beautiful, warm weather! We’ve talked with plenty of people who are cleaning up and donating now to make time for more fun over the next few months.
Those donations power our mission to help your neighbors get no-cost support, education and work experience to achieve their career goals. You can learn more about some of the resources our Opportunity Centers offer here. Our donated goods team is working to make it convenient for you to drop off those donations—which help change lives in our community.
One way we achieve this goal is by heading out to locations and events you might go to during your day. We love working with our community partners at their events. You may have seen us earlier this month at Enmarket Arena, working with the Savannah Ghost Pirates to host a donation drive. We also had our donation uprights out for you to drop off donations at the last home game of the season.
Last Friday, we partnered with the Greater Pooler Area Chamber of Commerce for Community Clean-Out Day. This was a one-stop shop to help neighbors make responsible recycling decisions during their spring cleaning. We collected donations and highlighted how donating and shopping at Goodwill helps to create a sustainable lifestyle.
“It’s important to be convenient to where the donors are and to partner with the Chamber and others," says Parker Kitchens, Manager of Donation Acquisition. "It’s to bring that to the community where it’s easier for them to donate.”

If you are part of a community group, we’d love to talk about how we can partner for an event.
