Building a Better Community: Commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging
At Goodwill Southeast Georgia, the values of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging are at the core of everything we do. Diversity is a driving force that empowers our mission and enhances our impact on the communities we serve. CEO Michael Winckler recently shared his thoughts on LinkedIn:
He is referring to Goodwill Southeast Georgia’s Equity Statement. This was developed as part of the organization’s Strategic Plan, which was developed in 2022, and began in 2023.
The Equity Statement outlines our commitment to building a safe, inclusive space. Goodwill’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) Committee offers a platform for team members from all levels of the organization to share valuable feedback and shape our culture.
One of the DEIB committee's primary goals is to develop and support the implementation of initiatives that promote diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. The committee is constantly exploring innovative ways to foster connections and understanding within our team.
Each month, we shine a spotlight on different aspects of our Goodwill family, recognizing the unique contributions and stories of our associates. This regular message serves as a reminder of our shared values and strengthens the bonds within our diverse community.
Join us in this journey towards a more inclusive future. Together, we can build a world where everyone feels they truly belong.
