Goodwill Southeast Georgia Celebrates Teachers!
This week at Goodwill Southeast Georgia, we have spent time across our region celebrating teachers for Teacher Appreciation Week! At Goodwill, it is our mission to expand access to educational and training opportunities, so we deeply respect and appreciate the work teachers to every day!
A recent analysis estimated teachers spent about $820 of their own money on supplies for their classroom last school year. To say, “thank you,” and to ease the impact of this projected cost, education professionals shopping with us this week have received 15% off their purchases at any retail store (excluding Bit of Blue and Outlets). This promotion continues through Saturday, May 6. All you need to receive the discount is your School ID!
Our store leadership is also taking part in the celebration by donating 100 books to two local schools in their communities. The same analysis cited earlier in this post says of the $820 of personal funds a teacher will spend this year, nearly $200 of it is spent on books and software. Here are a few of our “book drops” from this week! Several more are scheduled in the coming days.
