AbilityOne Associate Spotlight: Meet Alicia

Alicia_FLETC (1)

This National Disability Employment Awareness Month, Goodwill Southeast Georgia is proud to celebrate the dedicated Associates who help make our mission possible every day.

For Alicia, her journey with the AbilityOne Program began through Goodwill Southeast Georgia, where she found an opportunity to work, learn new skills, and become part of a supportive team.

Today, Alicia serves as a custodian, helping maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for everyone who uses the facility at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Brunswick. Her day includes cleaning assigned areas, sanitizing surfaces, removing trash, and ensuring supplies remain stocked and available.

While the work may happen behind the scenes, Alicia takes pride in the impact it makes.

“I’m proud of the progress I’ve made in my daily work. Being able to finish my assignments and see the difference I’ve made gives me a sense of accomplishment.”

Alicia appreciates the support she receives from her supervisor and fellow team members.

“My supervisor and teammates help me understand my assignments and provide guidance when I need it. Their support helps me feel more comfortable and confident in my work.”

For Alicia, one of the most rewarding aspects of her job is knowing that her work matters. Every day, she contributes to a team effort that helps keep the facility clean and ready for employees, visitors, and customers.

“Our work makes a difference every day. We work together to keep the facility clean, and I’m proud to be part of the team.”

During National Disability Employment Awareness Month, Goodwill Southeast Georgia celebrates Associates like Alicia whose dedication, teamwork, and commitment help strengthen workplaces across our community. Her story is a reminder that every individual brings unique value and talent to the workforce.
