Every year, Goodwill Southeast Georgia looks forward to one of our favorite traditions: the Teacher Book Giveaway.
At its heart, this event is about saying “thank you” to the educators who invest so much of themselves into the lives of students across our region. It’s an opportunity to recognize the teachers who inspire curiosity, encourage growth, and help shape the future of our communities each and every day.
This year, educators from across Southeast Georgia(opens in new tab) joined us for our 7th Annual Teacher Book Giveaway, where they selected free books to take back to their classrooms and learning spaces. In total, 907 books found new homes with local educators, providing resources that will continue impacting students throughout the school year.
The impact of the event extended beyond books.
Educators had the opportunity to connect with Goodwill about additional resources, partnerships, and opportunities available through Goodwill Southeast Georgia. These include future donation drives to earn funds for school initiatives through our Donate to Educate program(opens in new tab), community engagement opportunities, workforce development services, and digital training programs.
We were especially encouraged to see interest in programs such as Google AI training(opens in new tab), career development resources, and workforce services(opens in new tab), highlighting the important role education and lifelong learning play in building stronger communities.
Connecting the Community to Learning
Goodwill’s mission extends far beyond our retail stores. Every donation made and every purchase completed helps fund programs and services that support education, career development, and economic mobility throughout Southeast Georgia. When community members donate and shop at Goodwill Southeast Georgia, they help create opportunities that empower individuals and strengthen families.
The Teacher Book Giveaway would not be possible without the support of our donors, shoppers, associates, media partners, and community advocates. Together, they help create a Cycle of Good that supports educators, students, and communities throughout our region.
