Brunswick, GA– The 3rd Annual Goodwill Southeast Georgia Charity Golf Tournament, presented by International Auto Processing, held at The Heritage Oaks Golf Course in Brunswick raised more than $10,000 to benefit local job seekers.
Funds raised will provide training and financial support for TWIC card purchase. TWIC cards are required for all port workers and at approximately $130 each, individuals often find them to be a significant barrier to employment.
Goodwill Southeast provides individual support, meaningful training, and employment assistance to job seekers at The Opportunity Center at Goodwill, located at 249 Village at Glynn Place in Brunswick. As part of their services, Goodwill provided more than 130 TWIC cards last year. For those wanting to work at the Colonel’s Island port facility
Goodwill Staffing Services (GSS) provides temporary, temp-to-perm and direct placement services. GSS is a primary staffing services provider for International Auto Processing at Georgia Ports Authority facility at Colonel’s Island.
“Goodwill appreciates the local support that has allowed us to help people overcome barriers to employment. The funds raised will help many people find a career that will lead them to sustainable economic independence,” said Tom Cardiff, Senior Director of Donor Engagement.
