Goodwill provides a variety of programs and specialized services that assess and identify an individual’s abilities, job readiness skills and training needs, while offering individual assistance from Goodwill team members. Participation is based on referrals from partner agencies, such as Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency and the Veterans Administration. These programs are designed for those who desire employment and would benefit from additional skills to be successful on the job.

Job Connection Centers
Location: Savannah, Statesboro, Brunswick, Waycross
Goodwill’s Job Connection Centers serve individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment by offering job search assistance, career assessment activities, and soft skills training to prepare for a job. Goodwill is committed to closing the skills gap between job seeker and employer by continuously improving program offerings to meet the needs of the community.

Vocational Evaluations
Location: All counties we serve based on referrals
Goodwill provides diagnostic assessments and evaluations to assess abilities, challenges, and accommodations as they relate to gaining competitive integrated employment. Goodwill offers a large array of psychological, vocational, and aptitude assessments. Referrals are made through GVRA, VA, and other social service organizations. The outcome of this program is to determine any and all needs that will impact an individual’s ability to gain, obtain, and retain employment. Referral agencies based on recommendations, will coordinate appropriate supports.

Work Evaluations
Location: All counties we serve based on referrals
This service is an on the job evaluation to help determine soft employability skills and work tolerance. This time limited service can be done in a variety of employment settings that correspond with the individuals vocational goals.  Referrals are made through GVRA, VA, and other social service agencies In 2018 Goodwill will open this service to identified individuals from the Job Connection Center.

Work Adjustment
Location: All counties we serve based on referrals
Work Adjustment Training (WAT) is a time limited career specific training program for individuals with barriers, disabilities, and/or disadvantaging conditions that affect their ability to gain and retain competitive integrated employment. Consumers will learn transferable skills specific to the identified employment/career goal. Referral agencies include VA, GVRA, and other social service agencies.

STEP
Location: All counties we serve based on referrals
The STEP, (Short Term Evaluation Program) is a short term, specialized evaluation service to support vocational rehabilitation, planning, and job development/placement for individuals with barriers, disabilities, and/or disadvantaging conditions that affect their ability to gain and retain competitive integrated employment. Respective GVRA entities determine eligibility of this program and will make referrals to Goodwill accordingly.  STEP is broken down into three sections:

STEP 1: Job Readiness, STEP 2: Job Placement, STEP 3: Job Retention

Work Readiness Enrichment Program
Location: Savannah
The Work Readiness Enrichment Program (WREP) is an 18-week juvenile court referred program for high-risk youth ages 14 – 16 designed to serve disconnected and system-involved youth with the intention of providing educational programming so as to bring them back to their grade level, provide work readiness training so they are qualified to enter the work force, and support services to help address the root cause of their chronic delinquent behavior and activity. WREP is a community intervention program aspiring to reduce youth from being committed to the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ.)

Hospitality Works!
Location: Savannah, Brunswick
Goodwill’s Hospitality Training Program utilizes the START curriculum (Skills, Tasks, And Results Training) Developed by the American Hospitality Lodging Education Association (AHLEI). This program is designed to provide opportunities for certification in the hospitality industry.

Individuals in this course have an opportunity to: Participate in 50+ hours of classroom training, Intern and Externships in a partnering Hotel, Obtain the Guest Services Gold Certification, Receive 1 additional certification in Front Desk Representative, Guestroom Attendant, Maintenance Employee, Restaurant Server.

Goodwill Staffing Services
Location: Savannah, Brunswick
Goodwill provides Temporary, Temp to Perm, and Direct Hire labor to various types on industry in the Savannah and Brunswick areas. Industries include logistics, hospitality, industrial, and manufacturing.
