Stories of Impact: Tiffany Vozar

Play Video Tiffany Vozar knows what it feels like to face uncertainty. After being previously incarcerated, she found herself on a challenging path when it came to finding a job. She didn’t feel confident entering back into the workforce. But then, everything changed when she connected with G-Force Manufacturing at Goodwill. Tiffany took a chance and applied for a position, not fully believing she’d land the role. They saw her abilities – and gave her the opportunity she’d been hoping for. “I didn’t think I was going to get it,” Tiffany recalls. “But they gave me a shot. They’ve treated me with such respect and gave me the confidence to move forward and achieve my goals.”

April is Second Chance Month

Every April we shine a spotlight on the importance of second chances and the impact they can have on individuals, families, and communities. By providing job training, skills development, and support, we help people rebuild their lives. In 2020, local Goodwills served 47,610 Individuals with a criminal background, including those reintegrating back into society. We are honored to be partners in the movement to shift the nation’s perception of reentry and show that everyone deserves the opportunity to succeed!

“Not all of us have the same background. And because we don’t all have the same background, we don’t have the same knowledge and skills. And so they’re (Goodwill)  helping people to grow and that is such an amazing thing. And an amazing thing to be a part of.”

She’s also proud to be part of Goodwill’s mission  – empowering individuals to reach their highest potential, no matter their background. “Not all of us have the same background. And because we don’t all have the same background, we don’t have the same knowledge and skills,” she says. “And so they’re helping people to grow – and that is such an amazing thing. And an amazing thing to be a part of.” Now thriving as a quality control inspector, Tiffany feels confident and supported – not just as an employee, but as a person. “They just want to see me succeed,” she says. “Whether this is just a stepping stone or I decide to stay with Goodwill.” Her story is a powerful reminder that everyone deserves a second chance – and that sometimes, all it takes is one opportunity to change everything.
