I started working at Goodwill five years ago in St. Mary’s. I was hired as a full-time retail associate. At that time, I was looking for a job in retail. Never knew anything about thrift stores or Goodwill. Never a shopper but ALWAYS donated.
I sincerely love working at Goodwill. Every day I learn, I grow, and I teach others.
(A few months into my role) I was promoted to team lead with more responsibilities. I enjoy getting involved and being a team player. I have learned a lot at Goodwill. I have attended leadership trainings and I have become certified in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Being dedicated to the organization and assisting where I can has always come easy for me. The culture at Goodwill is really amazing. We have leaders and a support staff that communicate effectively and will be there for you at a moment’s notice. As long as you work hard, and are dedicated with a positive attitude, the sky is really the limit. It really is what you make out of it. If you want Goodwill to be your career that CAN be the case or if it’s just a stepping stone for you that will work as well.

Being happy and fulfilling your full potential is really important. Goodwill does that for me. I will always be grateful, appreciative and thankful for my leaders, coworkers and support staff who have believed in me. Recently, I have been promoted to store manager. I’m SO EXCITED and ready for the next chapter! (I’m) building and training my team while inspiring them to do a good job one day at a time.
