From Commitment to Career: Clinical Medical Graduation Highlights the Power of Opportunity

Cohort

This month, we proudly celebrated the graduation of twelve remarkable women who completed the 16-week Clinical Medical Assistant (CMA) program at Savannah Technical College in partnership with Goodwill Southeast Georgia.

This achievement is more than a certificate-it’s a testament to resilience, determination, and the transformative power of opportunity. These graduates balanced demanding coursework with jobs, family responsibilities, and life’s challenges. Their commitment was evident in the pride and joy that filled the room during the ceremony.

“You (faced) challenges and doubts and maybe even moments where you wondered if you could finish, but you did.”

“You (faced) challenges and doubts and maybe even moments where you wondered if you could finish, but you did. You showed up and you pushed through,” shared Holly Schor, Chief Mission Officer at Goodwill Southeast Georgia. “And today you stand here as graduates. This is something that we should all be celebrating. So, congratulations!” Her words resonated deeply, reminding everyone that courage begins with a single decision to take action

Graduate Kimyana Green, selected to speak on behalf of her class, reflected on the journey: “These last couple of months have been very challenging, but through it all we completed one of the biggest milestones in our lives.”

Her voice carried the determination and pride that defined this cohort.

Holly’s keynote address underscored the core of Goodwill’s mission: “Education is more than knowledge-it’s liberation.” She spoke about the courage it takes to invest time and energy in learning, and how new skills open doors to new possibilities.

This celebration highlights Goodwill’s holistic approach to workforce development. Through our six regional Opportunity Centers, we provide more than training. We offer a pathway to success. Our wraparound services ensure that barriers such as transportation, childcare, and access to resources don’t stand in the way of achievement.

From credentialed programs like Clinical Medical Assistant training to personalized career coaching, our team works one-on-one with individuals to help them find a job, a better job, and ultimately, a career. This comprehensive support system empowers participants to reach their highest potential and create lasting change for themselves and their families.

Join us in congratulating the 2025 CMA graduates as they begin new careers in healthcare. Their stories remind us that one opportunity can change the course of a life, and that’s what Goodwill is all about.

Stay tuned as we share more success stories from these inspiring women and continue our mission of changing lives through the power of work.
