Exploring How Digital Learning Opens Doors
Technology connects us, transforms education, and opens doors to opportunity. That’s why Goodwill Southeast Georgia is proud to celebrate National Digital Learning Day on February 13, 2025. It’s a day dedicated to highlighting the power of digital learning in creating more equitable and human-centered learning experiences.
Why Digital Learning Matters
The digital revolution has changed how we live, work, and learn. With the right skills, people can access new job opportunities, continue their education, and navigate an increasingly digital world with confidence. However, digital inequity remains a challenge-with barriers such as lack of internet access, limited technology, and gaps in digital skills training keeping many from reaching their full potential.- 1 in 5 U.S. households still lack home internet access, with cost being a major factor.
- Many job seekers struggle with basic digital skills, limiting their ability to compete in today’s workforce.
Goodwill’s Commitment to Digital Learning
At Goodwill Southeast Georgia, we believe that digital literacy is key to building a brighter future. That’s why our six Opportunity Centers offer free digital skills training every month, helping job seekers gain the confidence and knowledge they need to succeed. Our courses cover essential skills, including:✅ Basic computer skills – Understanding hardware, software, and navigating different devices.
✅ Microsoft Word basics – Creating, saving, and sharing documents, plus working with text, tables, and charts.
✅ Navigating the internet – Learning how to browse safely, search effectively, and access online resources. Every lesson is designed to empower learners, helping them build a foundation for career growth and lifelong learning. Whether someone is entering the workforce for the first time, changing careers, or simply looking to improve their digital confidence, Goodwill is here to help.
