Stories of Impact: Celebrating GOOD in the Community
With Earth Day coming up on April 22, we’ll all be reminded to evaluate our everyday choices and consider what impact they have on the environment.
Earth Day encourages us all to act boldly, innovate broadly, and implement equitably towards the dream of a clean and healthy planet. This is at the root of Goodwill’s mission to amplify the message of environmental sustainability through “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.” Â Every year Goodwill Southeast Georgia helps divert millions of pounds of goods from landfills, giving usable items a second life and promoting a circular economy where reuse, repair, and upcycling reduce waste.

This year, Goodwill Southeast Georgia proudly celebrates
its 60th Anniversary-a milestone made possible by YOU: people, organizations, and partners across the region. Goodwill Southeast Georgia is 100 percent local, 100 percent non-profit. We are led by a board of directors who live and work right here in Southeast Georgia. We actively listen, learn, and build partnerships to provide the best resources possible at our six Opportunity Centers. Last year, we served over 4,800 individuals with job training, education, and career support-placing 614 people into high-demand, mid-wage jobs.
Your donations power a cycle of Good. They fund free job training and career services for anyone who visits our Opportunity Centers. In fact, 98% of our training and education programs are funded through revenue from our business programs, including our retail stores.
Every item donated and sold helps transform lives.

We love getting out into our community to celebrate all the Good we are doing together, and we’re honored to do that again at Swampfest in Waycross for the second year in a row! Keeping sustainability and our mission top of mind, we are sharing our Stories of Impact and offering a fun, sustainable craft.
At Goodwill Southeast Georgia, one of the many materials we recycle are cardboard products. At Swampfest, we demonstrated how that cardboard can be upcycled into a handy tool: a Bookmark!
Community support drives everything we do. Your support has made a difference for 60 years, and together, we can continue creating lasting impact for decades to come! Thank YOU!
