Goodwill Southeast Georgia believes in the power of partnerships to connect people with the best resources available to accomplish their goals.
Tim and Eric, community representatives from Humana, have seen firsthand the vital role that Goodwill Opportunity Centers play in connecting people with support and clarity. What began as a weekly visit to set up a resource table at the Waycross Opportunity Center has grown into a consistent and trusted partnership-one built on shared mission and community care.
“We are really good partners together. We kind of help out a lot of the same folks,” Tim shared.
Tim and Eric work directly with individuals who are navigating disability and Medicare, many of whom arrive confused or uncertain about their options.
“A lot of times it’s clear that confusion is what we are dealing with… people just want answers,” Tim said. “I found that one of the best things Goodwill offers is help accessing information-somebody to help you filter through all the noise and get something you can actually apply.”
Their regular presence at the Opportunity Center has allowed them to build trust and provide much-needed answers to questions that are often difficult to untangle alone.
But this partnership has also opened
their eyes to the depth of services offered through Goodwill.
“I didn’t know this was a thing that Goodwill had,” Tim admitted.
“It helped me realize how much Goodwill does for the community-not only just for jobs, but all the different resources,” says Eric.
From job fairs to resume support, and even vouchers for clothing for interviews, Tim and Eric now have a front-row seat to the wraparound support Goodwill offers every day.
“It’s busy. So many folks need help, and Goodwill is there-consistently. That consistency is key,” said Tim. “People know [a Goodwill Career Service Specialist] is here all the time. Available to answer questions.”
